The Southwick Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Centre was the recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, a prestigious award given in recognition of its volunteers and supporters. A small ceremony was held to celebrate this, attended by the Lord Lieutenant for West Sussex, who presented the award.
The centre provides low-cost treatments, as well as a social centre and support network that is often invaluable for sufferers of MS. The centre is equipped with an oxygen chamber, which can significantly reduce the pain and fatigue experienced as a result of the disease.
The event was a celebration both of the good work done by volunteers and of the essential role played by the Centre, making a positive difference in the lives of many people with MS across West Sussex.
